This is the perfect team building activity; it encompasses such scenarios as leadership, communication, working with change, buddying, and many more that match perfectly to the business world.

RAFT BUILDING DAYS - just outside London with rafts and team games

DRAGON BOAT RACING - many locations

CARDBOARD BOAT CHALLENGE - many locations

CANOES AND ROWING - many locations

RIB DAYS - south coast day with treasure hunt

SAILING DAYS - on a variety of yachts around the coast of England

On a water-based team building day we would have teams of 5-8 people and would progress the day as follows:

Safety briefing over breakfast
Discuss crew roles and characteristics
Allow team members to present and discuss their strengths and weaknesses
Choose a team leader who will then select his team based on information
Train the team on the various aspects of the event
Encourage crew communication, buddying and team encouragement
Set a challenge such as navigating a short course
Feedback of KPI's to allow the team to make changes during lunch break
Set a more complex challenge for the afternoon
Final debrief - KPI's on improvement
Post-event celebrations and prize giving
